Gleason Fine Art

While on a trip to Maine last Fall, I stumbled upon The Gleason Fine Art Gallery nestled in downtown Boothbay Harbor.  The owners are a husband and wife team with the gallery fitted with their surname. Complete with a waterview and a fabulous collection of 19-20 century fine art, the artwork spreads out on the entire first floor of the restored 19th century farmhouse building… The works vary from painters to sculptures and include many New England water scenery.  They host exhibitions throughout the year and offer appraisals, consulting and restoration services. What a lovely experience!

Liliana Fijman

Medium: Mixed Medium

Fascinated by nature growing up on Argentina, Liliana turned to film and photography in her adolescent years.  She continued her formal study in art education. With a move to Rhode Island with her family she created in mediums of drawings and her own black and while photo lab.  It was an introduction at RISD of paper making and arts that led her in a new direction of creativity.  He works are expressive, feminine and story-telling all wrapped up in one.  Bella!

Corey Motta

Medium: Photography

There is an urban fresh feel when I discovered Corey’s photographs. He was inspired by the use of a camera from school. How cool is that?! Capturing not only young faces, but the sounds and sights that are captured when we listen and see. He is a pioneer in his journey and he seizes it with each click of the lens. Keep clicking Corey, you are on to something very big!

Rhode Island Museum of Science and Art

It’s always welcoming when a new ‘interactive’ learning space makes its way into Providence, RI. The Rhode Island Museum of Science and Art, (RIMOSA) does that and more. With hands-on, open minded exhibits, programs and open maker space you will find yourself racing from one experience to the next! A fun filled place that adheres to all age groups and encompasses learning science while creating art all combined under one roof. I found myself not wanted to leave to create and learn more, more, more…
