Museum of Westward Expansion

Visit: Museum of Westward Expansion

Another stop of my trek in St Louis was The Arch. Oh my… What an incredible site! Sitting on the banks of the Mississippi River it is an incredible spot. Not realizing booking ahead to actually ride to the top was necessary, you could imagine my sadness when we were told there are plenty of openings tomorrow. Tomorrow I was heading back home (boohoo). However, I thoroughly enjoyed the Museum at the base of The Arch. The Museum of Westward Expansion has modern dioramas and lifelike 3D images. The experience of journeys into the past made me proud to experience what a great nation we have. The museum store is awesome!

St. Louis Art Museum

Visit: SLAM

Every time I visit a new city, museums are always at the top of my list!
Visiting St. Louis Missouri for the very first time, I was amazed by their abundance of art. The St. Louis Art Museum is a true gem. Part of the Mission states, “elevates the human spirit…” love that. Sitting in Forest Park sets the stage for the collections that houses African, Asian, Islamic and Modern works (…just to name a few). And the best part, it’s all FREE! They do charge a reasonable rate for special exhibitions, totally worth it… With an outdoor Sculpture garden and 2 floors (Main and East building) there is so much to see and learn. Grab a floor plan and spend the day. Stop in and dine in 2 of the restaurants and visit the Museum store, it’s inspiring.

With a fab outdoor garden, seating and artwork to gaze at, walk inside and your senses will be most delighted. The galleries are well stocked and the art is extremely impressive! Check out all their event, programs and classes!
